Service

Transport & Logistics

Pickup, delivery and reverse logistics across the Midwest.

How it works, briefly

We move totes so you do not have to. Full truckloads of 40, LTL for smaller lots, and reverse logistics that collect your empties on the same routes that deliver full ones — cutting both cost and empty miles.

Why it’s greener

Backhauling empties on delivery routes eliminates empty-mile emissions that a one-way carrier would burn.

Transport & Logistics

We move totes so you don’t have to. Full truckloads of forty, LTL for smaller lots, and reverse logistics that collect your empties on the same routes that deliver full ones — cutting both your cost and the empty-mile emissions a one-way carrier would burn. Every load is strapped and stacked to DOT standards, and you get pickup and delivery confirmation for your records.

Operating from a Peoria hub lets us batch deliveries and empty pickups across the Midwest into efficient shared routes, so few miles ever run empty. The tote lifecycle and the truck route close the same loop.

Detailed walkthrough

Every step, explained.

Here’s exactly what happens from the moment you reach out to the moment the job is done.

01

Tell us what’s moving

In the quote form, tell us the quantity, origin, destination, any product inside (if loaded), and whether you need empties picked up on the same run.

02

Route planning

We slot your stop into the most efficient route — batching with other deliveries and pickups nearby so you benefit from shared-route pricing and lower emissions.

03

Load and secure

Totes are staged, loaded cage-to-cage, and strapped to DOT cargo-securement standards. Loaded totes are treated as hazmat if the product requires it.

04

Transit and updates

You receive a pickup confirmation when the load departs and a delivery confirmation when it arrives — a simple email paper trail for your records.

05

Delivery and unload

Our driver works with your dock team. Full totes come off; empties (if arranged) go back on. One stop, two things done.

06

Reverse logistics leg

Empty totes return to our yard for intake inspection. Reusable ones enter reconditioning; anything beyond saving goes to material recovery.

What this service doesn’t cover

We’d rather be upfront than have you discover a gap after the fact. Here’s what falls outside this service — and we’ll refer you if you need it.

  • International cross-border freight (US Midwest coverage only)

What to send us

Information we need from you

The more detail in your first email, the faster and more accurate your quote.

  • Origin and destination addresses with dock or access details
  • Tote count and sizes (275 or 330 gallon)
  • Product contents if loaded (for DOT hazmat determination)
  • Preferred delivery window
  • Contact person and phone for dock coordination (delivery day only)

What affects your quote: Distance and where you fall on our routes · Full truckload vs. LTL quantity · Whether empties can be backhauled on the same trip · Any regulated-liquid handling requirements
Pricing

What goes into the number.

We quote every job individually by email. Here are the variables that shape what you’ll see in that quote — no surprises.

  • Distance from Peoria hub and route density in your area
  • Full truckload (40 totes) vs. LTL — per-unit cost drops significantly at full load
  • Whether a backhaul (empty pickup) is combined — dramatically improves economics
  • Loaded vs. empty — hazmat documentation adds cost for regulated products
  • Recurring route vs. one-time — scheduled routes earn better per-stop pricing
Documentation

What you receive.

Every transaction generates documents. Here’s what you’ll have for your records, procurement file or sustainability report.

  • Bill of lading for each shipment
  • Pickup confirmation by email
  • Delivery confirmation by email
  • DOT-required hazmat documentation if applicable to your product

Safety & compliance

How we keep things safe, documented and audit-ready.

Safety practices

  • All loads are strapped and blocked to DOT 49 CFR Part 393 cargo-securement standards
  • Loaded IBCs containing regulated liquids travel with required hazmat placards and shipping papers
  • Totes with residual product are treated as loaded for securement and documentation purposes
  • Drivers are briefed on the product being hauled; emergency response info travels with every load
  • We do not stack loaded totes — empties only are stacked, and only two high on a stable surface

Compliance notes

  • IBC transport of regulated hazardous materials must comply with DOT 49 CFR Parts 171–180
  • Bills of lading and delivery confirmations serve as your chain-of-custody documentation
  • Recurring routes can be documented in a logistics services agreement for your procurement file
Why IBC Solutions Illinois

We do the whole job. In-house. Documented.

Email-first quoting

Every request gets a written quote within one business day — quantity, grade, delivered price and lead time in a single reply. No phone tag, no vague "call for pricing."

In-house full lifecycle

We buy, recondition, transport and recycle in one operation. No middlemen. No outsourced reconditioning that we can’t verify. The tank you get is the tank we processed.

Documented to the tote

Grade tags, prior-contents disclosure, pressure-test records and bills of lading travel with every unit. Your QA team and auditors get the paper trail they need.

Reuse-first philosophy

We recondition before we recycle, and we recycle before we landfill. That’s the correct order — and it’s how we run every tank that comes through the yard.

The green angle

Real sustainability numbers, not marketing fluff.

Reuse beats recycling. Recycling beats landfill. We operate that hierarchy on every tank, every time — and we give you the documentation to prove it to your auditors.

~90 lb

Steel saved per cage reused

The steel cage and pallet are the heaviest, most carbon-intensive parts of an IBC. Every reuse cycle avoids remaking them from ore.

275–330 gal

Per tote vs. ~50 drums

An IBC replaces 5–7 drums per trip, slashing packaging count, handling time and transport emissions at once.

Zero

Landfill goal for end-of-life tanks

HDPE reground, steel recovered, pallets repaired or chipped. When a tank is truly done, every component still has a next life.

Scope 3

Documented reductions

Reconditioning and recycling records support your Scope 3 Category 1 and Category 4 packaging emissions reporting.

Transport & Logistics — FAQs

How far do you deliver?
Across Illinois and the greater Midwest from our Peoria yard, single totes to full truckloads.
Can you pick up my empties when you deliver?
Yes — reverse logistics is the whole point. Backhauling empties on delivery routes cuts cost and emissions at once.
Do you handle regulated liquids?
For regulated products we use appropriately rated containers and follow DOT rules for securement and documentation. Tell us the product and we’ll advise.
How are totes secured in transit?
Strapped and blocked to DOT cargo-securement standards, loaded squarely cage-to-cage with weight centered over the axles.
Can I combine a delivery order with an empty pickup at the same stop?
Absolutely — that’s exactly the efficiency we optimize for. Drop full totes, pick up empties, single trip.
What is the minimum order for freight delivery?
We handle single totes to full truckloads of forty. Small lots ship LTL; tell us your count and we’ll quote the freight leg.
Do you offer scheduled recurring pickup routes?
Yes. Customers with regular empty-tote volumes can set up recurring route stops so your yard clears automatically without a new request each time.
What regions do you cover?
Illinois and the broader Midwest — Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan and surrounding states. Reach out with your location and we’ll confirm coverage.
