New IBC Totes

First-use tanks for regulated, ultra-pure or export applications.

In a nutshell

New (first-use) IBC totes are freshly manufactured tanks that have never held product. We stock them for applications where regulation, purity or export documentation rules out a reused tank — while still steering you to reuse wherever it is safe to do so.

New IBC Totes — 275 & 330 gallons

New (first-use) IBC totes are freshly manufactured tanks that have never held product. We stock them for the applications where regulation, purity or export documentation genuinely rules out a reused container — and we are honest about when that is and is not the case. If a reconditioned tank can do your job safely, we will tell you and save you money.

When new is the right call, you get a pristine interior, full traceability and UN-rated options for regulated transport. And because we enroll every new unit we sell in our take-back program, even a first-use tank eventually re-enters the circular loop instead of the landfill.

When new is the responsible choice

Some cargo simply cannot travel in a reused container: injectable-grade ingredients, ultra-high-purity solvents, or shipments that must clear customs with virgin documentation. For those we supply first-use totes with full traceability — and we take the empties back at end of life so they still enter the circular loop.

New today, reconditioned tomorrow

A new tote is not the end of the story. We register every unit we sell so that when your product run ends, the same tank comes back to be washed, re-bottled and put back to work for the next customer.

Reuse-first promise: if a reconditioned tank can do your job safely, we'll recommend it over new — every time.
Fittings & lids

Every tote ships with a valve. Here's how to spec the right one.

Where it's used

Common use cases

Regulated & injectable-grade inputs

For ingredients that cannot travel in a reused container, a first-use tank with virgin documentation is the compliant choice.

Ultra-pure liquids

High-purity water, solvents and electronics-grade chemistry where any prior-contents risk is unacceptable.

Export shipments

Customs and international buyers that require new, UN-rated containers with complete paperwork.

Spec-sensitive fluids

DEF/AdBlue and other products with strict container specifications and contamination limits.

Safety & UN markings

What the markings mean — and when you need them.

Reading a UN mark: UN 31HA1/Y/275L

31IBC container type per UN standards
HPlastic (HDPE) inner receptacle
ARigid outer body (steel cage)
1Free-standing (no outer packaging needed)
YPacking group II — medium-danger liquids
275LMaximum gross mass or capacity in liters

When is UN certification required?

  • Regulated hazardous liquids classified as DOT Packing Group I, II or III
  • International shipments where customs or the receiving country mandates UN marking
  • Carrier requirements for flammable, corrosive or toxic liquids in bulk
  • Any cargo where your SDS requires a UN-rated container
Not required for: food-grade and industrial totes used for non-regulated, non-hazmat liquids — which covers the vast majority of our customers.

Safety notes for New IBC Totes

  • UN-rated totes are certified to a specific packing group — confirm the marking matches your product classification before shipping.
  • Antistatic totes are required for certain flammable liquids; consult your SDS and DOT regulations.
  • Even first-use totes should be rinsed before filling ultra-pure products to flush manufacturing residue.
  • Retain UN certification documentation; it may be required for customs clearance and carrier acceptance.
  • Enroll in our take-back program at purchase so empties return for reconditioning, not disposal.
Documentation

What ships with every unit — and what you can request.

Always included

Available on request

  • Wash-cycle certificate
  • COA for rebottled units
  • UN certification copy

Buying tips

Get the right tank the first time

  • Only buy new when regulation, purity or export rules truly require it — otherwise reconditioned saves money and carbon.
  • Specify the UN packing group your product falls under so we supply a correctly rated tank.
  • Ask about antistatic bottles for flammable-adjacent or static-sensitive products.
  • Enroll in take-back at purchase so the empties come back to us rather than to disposal.
How it compares: Versus reconditioned: higher cost and higher embodied carbon, justified only when a virgin interior or virgin documentation is required. For the majority of storage and non-regulated liquids, reconditioned is the better value — new is a targeted tool, not a default.
Care & handling

Six rules that keep a tote working — and people safe.

  1. Keep totes shaded and covered — UV degrades HDPE over time; white or opaque covers dramatically extend bottle life.
  2. Label every tank with the current product, date filled and grade — never rely on prior labels.
  3. Flush the outlet valve before connecting to your line to clear any residue from the valve body.
  4. Use a pallet jack or forklift for all moves — never tip or roll a full IBC tote.
  5. Store full totes upright and flat on a stable, level surface; tilting puts stress on the cage welds.
  6. Return empties to us — the cage and pallet stay in service and you close the loop.

The circular loop — in six words

Use it. Return it. Repeat it.

Every empty you send back to us is a cage and pallet that stays in service, a bottle that gets a new life, and a step that keeps material out of the landfill. The loop only closes if everyone closes it.

New IBC Totes — FAQs

When should I choose new over reconditioned?
Choose new for pharmaceuticals, injectable-grade or ultra-pure inputs, export shipments needing virgin documentation, and spec-sensitive fluids like DEF. Everywhere else, reconditioned is usually the smarter buy.
Are new totes UN-rated?
UN 31HA1/Y and other ratings are available. Tell us the packing group your product requires and we supply a matching certified tank.
Do you really take new totes back?
Yes. Every new unit is registered for our take-back program so the steel and pallet re-enter the reuse loop instead of the landfill.
Can I mix new and reconditioned on one order?
Absolutely — many customers buy new for their regulated line and reconditioned for everything else. We'll spec both in a single delivery.
